2026 Sunshine Coast Athletics Carnival

Wednesday 15th July was our second attempt at hosting the Sunshine Coast Athletics Carnival due to wet weather in Term 2, and our first at a new venue.  It was a perfect bluebird day, with over 300 students turning out in force, ready to compete.

It was encouraging to see so many young athletes giving the events a go across the day. The 60m and 100m events proved popular, with plenty of spectators lining the straights to show their support.

There was one team that streaked away in the end, proving too strong for the other houses. Well done to Ararat for taking out the overall House Champion for Sunshine Coast Athletics. Congratulations to all students who attended and gave their best, and special mention to all age champions for a consistent effort throughout the day.
 

A huge thank you goes to our staff, volunteers, and supporters who helped make the carnival such a success.

We now look ahead to our Christian School Sport Association Queensland (CSSA) athletics carnival on 18th August. Faith takes a team along to this, which is selected from Ipswich and Sunshine Coast Athletics carnivals. Keep an eye on your emails over the coming weeks, as those students eligible to attend will be invited via email.
