ANZAC Day Services Around Queensland

ANZAC Day Services Around Queensland
Jessica Wells

ANZAC Day is important anniversary to commemorate and reflect on the values such as courage, mateship, endurance, and sacrifice. The day provides an opportunity to pause and remember those who served, and acknowledge the impact of their service on our freedom and way of life.

Brisbane South Region

My name’s Ben, and I’m a student representative for South Brisbane. On Thursday 23 April, I had the absolute privilege to attend the ANZAC Commemoration Ceremony alongside Maia Chio (a fellow rep), Mr Johnston, and Mr Fanning. It was moving on so many levels, to hear the hymns, the poetry, the accounts of young men, even boys; their blood spilt on foreign soil, never to return home. The ultimate sacrifice was paid for the freedom we live in today. There are but few things more noble than commemorating and honouring a sacrifice so significant. I am so truly grateful for the experience. May we never forget.

My name is Melody Greening and was privileged to represent Faith Christian School of Distance Education with honour at Stanthorpe’s ANZAC Day services, attending the 5:30am dawn service and 11am wreath laying. I respectfully laid a wreath, demonstrating leadership, gratitude, and remembrance, honouring the sacrifice of those who served and reflecting the values of our school and community.
