Cert III and IV Screen and Media Intensive

Cert III and IV Screen and Media Intensive
Rosie Spooner, RTO Trainer

The past two weeks have been an exciting and creative whirlwind for our Certificate III and IV Screen and Media students, who took part in their much-anticipated Screen and Media Intensives.

Intensive 1 saw our Certificate III students head to Underwood Park for hands-on, on-set training. Students were immersed in professional film set protocols while learning real-world filmmaking skills. Working collaboratively, they wrote, directed, and filmed their own short films from start to finish. The experience was not only highly educational, but also great fun, with students developing technical skills, confidence, and a strong sense of teamwork.

Meanwhile, our Certificate IV students took on an exciting industry-style project: producing a music video for one of our very own talented musician teachers, Cherie Csikos. The shoot began with students designing and constructing a small film set and filming key scenes on day one. On day two, the class travelled to the stunning outdoor locations of Mount Tamborine, where they planned and filmed a full day of location shoots. This intensive provided invaluable experience in project planning, communication, teamwork, and adapting creatively to real-world filming environments.

The skills gained, memories made, and collaboration demonstrated across both courses made these intensives a huge success. Keep an eye out—there are some fantastic finished films coming your way very soon!
