Duke of Edinburgh Easter Holidays Camp!

Duke of Edinburgh Easter Holidays Camp!
Ross McIvor, Outdoor Educator

During the second week of school holidays, eight intrepid senior school DE students and one intrepid teacher set off, with me (Mr Ross McIvor) and Mr Ricko Levinson, to take part in the first Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Award Adventurous Journey for Distance Education students in 2026.

Over three picture perfect days, the team bonded incredibly well as they canoed, bushwalked, cooked, swam and marvelled at the beauty of creation together out at Lake Wyaralong. Despite some less than ideal sleep (particularly for those who chose to sleep under the stars and woke up just a little wet and cold;) the vibes remained high and the nerves of the first day soon gave way to an incredible sense of connection, belonging, growth and achievement.

A huge well done to everyone involved (including the awesome Mrs Jenna) and Mr Ricko and I look forward to hopefully seeing you all back for you Silver Adventurous Journey in the near future!
