Faith Athletes Shine at CSSAQ Athletics Carnival

Tuesday 18 August saw 11 Christian schools from across South East Queensland come together to compete at the annual Christian School Sport Association Queensland (CSSAQ) Athletics Carnival at QSAC. What began as a wet and windy day for the Primary carnival cleared throughout the day ahead of the Secondary twilight carnival.

We had 30 students representing Faith across a variety of events, with students travelling from Toowoomba, the Sunshine Coast, the Gold Coast and Brisbane to compete. For many, it was their first time competing on a tartan track and using world-class facilities. This was exciting to see and provided a wonderful opportunity for our students.

The highlight of the day for me was seeing all our students give their best. An event like this can be quite intimidating, but everyone showed great determination and maintained a positive attitude throughout the day. We had several top-three placegetters, along with some excellent individual results. Ayla York was named the 13 Years Girls Age Champion, while Zane Galea placed third in the 12 Years Boys Age Championship.

We look forward to growing our Faith teams and continuing to compete at the CSSAQ athletics, swimming and cross-country events each year. Our teams for these events are selected based on performances at the Faith carnivals, with the top students from across our South East Queensland carnivals invited to attend.
