Towards the end of last term we had our very first Arts Event. We had singing and dancing and poetry and art produced by the students. Over 135 entries from kids around the State. My wife and I came in the afternoon and I picked up two bits of student artwork myself which will end up in my house. We had a great time and I was amazed not only at the talent that our kids have, but the enthusiasm they have to express themselves through the visual and other types of arts. We'll do it again next year. We'll make it bigger and we'll allow more opportunities from people from regional areas to for their kids to perform and also to send in their art. The Arts are alive and well at Faith Christian School!

Student leadership is going well. We had a whole bunch of kids at Student Leadership Camp and we've got people applying for this year. If you haven't applied yet to be a Student Leader in Grade 6 or Grade 12 for next year, please do so.
We've got great opportunities for you, training ways that you can learn how to be a Christian leader in our school and in your own community.
Last year we had three students compete in Lions Youth of the Year do very well. With that, we had students representing us at Anzac parades and other events. It was magnificent to our see our students out there leading from the front. And next year we're adding a training organisation called Compass Christian leadership to provide the kids with more understanding about how things hold together in the Christian world, which will prepare them even more. So if you haven't already, hop on the website, and submit an application to the School to have a crack at Leadership in 2025.

Well, as you know, doing sport in our school, we've got it pretty well nailed down when it comes to Swimming, Cross Country and Athletics. And we've had kids compete at a half a dozen events across the State, going on to higher levels of competition and doing very, very well. We've got a bunch of kids who do well in individual events. We've got swimmers and tennis players, and equestrian and other sports, and we support them as well as they go out there and compete and do the best with what God has.
We also have chess and we've got quite a few kids who do that and we've done quite well in that arena. But we also have one team sport, Pedal Prix, and this year the season has finished and our senior team out of 60 teams in the State came second overall. We've got a bit of footage to show you the final race in Brisbane.

They did extremely well training in each of the areas where they come from and coming together and competing together. Next year, we're adding a Primary School team as well.

One of the photos we're sharing with you is of the state team, which is made up of four different schools going down to Murray Bridge in South Australia and three of the kids on the state team are from our school. They have to have a beep test of level 10 or better, so well done to those kids and we'll let you know how they went with the very first national competition.

Our next Mission Outreach Team is coming up soon. If you haven't applied and had a go at Mission Outreach, please put your name down. It's a great opportunity to have your faith in action where we're not just talking about being Christians, but we're actually doing Christian things in the community with people who actually need it. So sign up for the Mission Trip!

In my devotions this week, the verse came up and I'd like to share it with you. Psalm 46, Verse 4. It says there is a river whose streams make glad the city of God, the Holy Place where the most high dwells. Faith Christian School is a Christian School. It's staffed by Christian men and women whose first job is to make sure that they understand that we are doing this from a Kingdom point of view.
Now we do English and maths and all the other things that we do, but firstly, we're about preaching the name of Jesus and to our community and that living water that comes to us makes it possible to have our city where we can do the things that we need to do.
There are things out there that are not good, but in our world God is the centre. Have a great week and we will see you in the new term or we'll see you at awards tonight or we'll see you at one of the many things that we do at Faith Christian School.
