Senior Secondary: What are LUI and USI Numbers?

Senior Secondary: What are LUI and USI Numbers?
Jenny McFall, PA to Deputy Principal Senior Secondary

Please keep an eye on your student's email inbox. Instructions with details about Senior Secondary students' USI and LUI numbers will be sent to their Outlook email accounts this week (Week 1, 2025). If you are a continuing student you can also find your LUI on previous reports or your school ID.

What is a Learner Unique Identifier?

The LUI gives you and your student access to the QCAA Student Portal via  https://myqce.qcaa.qld.edu.au/. The Student Portal will show which subjects your student is enrolled in with QCAA and will be the eventual location to access your Year 12 confirmed subject grades and your Queensland Certificate of Education ("Year 12 Certificate'').

The Student Portal also is the place to access the QCAA Academic Integrity course that all students in General and Essential school subjects are required to complete as part of our Assessment Policy.

What is a Unique Student Identifier?

All Senior Students are also requested to create a Unique Student Identifier (USI) and advise us of this number.  A USI is your individual education number for life. It also gives you an online record of your vocational education and training (VET) undertaken in Australia.

If you're at university, TAFE or doing other nationally recognised training, you need a USI. Without one, you can't get Commonwealth financial assistance or your qualification or statement of attainment.
