Multi-Faith Breakfast

Hi everyone, my name is Hannah Sketchley and I am the Junior School Regional Student Representative for Brisbane South.

In term one I had the privilege of attending the Logan Lord Mayors Multi-Faith Breakfast with Mr Johnston and Chappy Bek.  This was a fantastic opportunity to meet people of other faiths in my community and share a meal with them.

Lord Mayor Jon Raven spoke about why he made the breakfast, which is to learn about other cultures and faiths, and how it’s so important to respect others and others’ beliefs. I also got to hear about community initiatives such as REKON, which is an after school social hang out group were kids can just be kids, find themselves and have trustworthy friends.

So, in conclusion I very much encourage my peers to look out for opportunities like this in their communities to build connections and step outside our own worlds and share others’.
