Faith RTO Outdoor Education Trainer Full-time Position

An opportunity to apply your God-Given talents, love of the outdoors and love for educating youth.

  • Must have a Minimum of 3 years recent work experience in outdoor education roles.
  • Qualifications/Experience in Abseiling/Climbing, Mountain Bike riding, Paddle craft highly regarded. Other outdoor skills also considered.
  • Previous experience in Youth support services or Youth Ministry highly regarded.
  • Cert IV In TAE preferred. Training can be provided to the right candidate.
  • Commence January 2026

The Role

This is a fulltime position that will deliver training in outdoor locations in SE Queensland. Ability to Work from Home for administration and planning activities.

During the training the Outdoor education trainer will example and encourage students to grow in their Christian purpose and apply Christian Worldview to all aspects of their life and vocation. This is a ministry opportunity to build the next generation of practical Christians.

Responsibilities

  • The Outdoor Education Trainer is responsible for all aspects of the delivery of the Certificate II in outdoor education course.
  • They will also work with the Camp Coordinator who is responsible for the delivery of School camps and Duke of Edinburgh training.
  • Create and deliver vocational lessons in outdoor education to Distance Education students
  • Marking, assessing, and moderating student work providing tracking and reporting.
  • Undertaking study and independent work experience to ensure you grow in your knowledge and retain Industry currency in Technology and Outdoor related subjects.
  • Possess a strong Christian character and support Faith’s Christian values to provide pastoral care.
  • Reporting and working closely and in consultation with the RTO Manager.
  • Maintaining positive Christian relations with families and other staff.
  • Carrying out any reasonable additional tasks as delegated by the RTO Manager
  • Undertake administrative and coordination duties related to the training function.
  • Attend RTO Team meetings
  • Support of school events held throughout the year
  • Maintaining currency in Outdoor Education and skills
  • Travel and delivery of practical intensives to SE Queensland Regional centres.
  • Undertake site visits and Risk assessments of training Delivery sites.

Required

  • Minimum of 3 years recent experience in a Outdoor education role
  • Drivers license
  • Qualifications/Experience in Abseiling/Climbing, Mountain Bike riding, Paddle craft highly regarded. Other outdoor skills also considered.

Desirable

  • Cert IV in Training and Assessment
  • Vocation qualifications in Cert II in Outdoor education or higher
  • Experience in delivering group practical lessons to school students Year 10,11,12
  • Use of software to deliver training online
  • Experience in Youth Support services
