On Tuesday 28 July, four Duke of Edinburgh Award students from the Faith Flexible Learning School joined Mr McIvor, Mr Levinson and Mr Uelese for an environmental clean-up along Slacks Creek, behind Bunnings on Compton Road, Underwood.

Thanks to their positive and enthusiastic attitude towards the activity, the group managed to remove a significant amount of rubbish from the catchment area, which would otherwise have ended up washing further downstream during rainy weather. As Slacks Creek flows into the Logan River, which then flows into the ocean near North Stradbroke Island, the efforts of the group prevented the rubbish from becoming an environmental issue for wildlife and marine habitat.

Well done team and can’t wait to get out there for another cleanup day soon!
