Staff Professional Development Days: God's Big Story in Focus

On Thursday 7 and Friday 8 August, Faith staff gathered for two enriching days of Professional Development under the theme God’s Big Story.

These two days provided staff with a valuable opportunity for connection, learning, and praising God the as the event explored how to more deeply integrate faith and purpose into their work.

Day One Highlights

The day began with devotion and praise, followed by a warm welcome from Principal Graeme Johnston. Guest speaker Sulata Pop inspired staff during the morning session, followed by updates on IT developments, a fun Kahoot session, and a thought-provoking workshop on “Reframing AI Thinking - AI for Relationships.” After lunch, staff gathered for departmental meetings, encouraging collaboration and planning across teams.

Day Two Highlights

Friday continued with devotions and a group photo before launching into a series of sessions led by Bianca Vieiro focused on God’s Big Story. These workshops explored the who, what, and why behind God's Big Story and offered staff practical ways to apply this framework in everyday teaching. The two days concluded with prayer and praise, reinforcing the unity and shared mission of our Faith team - "to work with families to help students to fulfil their God-given potential."

We are grateful for this dedicated time to grow together, sharpen our skills, and reflect on the bigger picture of God’s work in and through our school community.
