Three Incredible Days of Learning and Connection

Three Incredible Days of Learning and Connection
Christine Scott

Last week, our Certificate III in Fitness students gathered in Kenmore for a three-day intensive workshop. It was a fantastic experience for our students, filled with learning, new friendships, and plenty of hands-on activities.

Some students admitted they felt a little nervous on the first morning, but those nerves didn’t last long. Once everyone started introducing themselves and working together, the atmosphere quickly became relaxed and positive. By the end of the workshop, many students had formed great friendships and connections.

On Wednesday, students worked with volunteer staff, parents, and even adult siblings while developing practical health and fitness skills. They conducted fitness assessments, measured body metrics, and learned how to take blood pressure and perform blood glucose testing. They also explored movement analysis, gaining a better understanding of how the body moves and functions across different clients. A huge thank you to the volunteers for giving their time for the day – you are greatly appreciated!

Another highlight was the completion of their First Aid and CPR certification. The first aid trainer commented that the group was one of the best he had worked with, noting how engaged and attentive the students were throughout the training. They represented the school extremely well and approached the course with maturity and enthusiasm.

Beyond the learning, the workshop created opportunities for connection. Over the three days, students formed wonderful friendships and supported each other through new challenges and experiences.

Many students travelled long distances to attend, which made their commitment even more impressive. The effort and enthusiasm shown by all students helped create a positive and supportive environment across the three days.

Overall, it was a great few days that brought people together, built new skills, and created some lasting friendships.
