Year 10's Work Experience Success

A number of our Year 10 students recently demonstrated outstanding work ethic by completing work experience placements across a wide range of industries. This milestone was an important step in helping them refine their career aspirations decisions by giving them valuable insights into the real world of work.

As part of the process, students practised applying for roles, preparing application documents, and communicating with employers. This gave them valuable exposure to recruitment practices and helped develop important employability skills that will support them in future education, training, and career opportunities. Over the course of their placements, students engaged in hands-on learning experiences in fields such as Agriculture, Healthcare, Hospitality, Education, Engineering, Marine, Personal Care, Electrical, Surveying, Plumbing, Veterinary Services, IT Support, Administration, and Community Services.

Employers Praise our Work Experience Students

Employers complimented our students on their enthusiasm, professionalism, and willingness to learn. From assisting with customer service tasks to observing specialised roles, students demonstrated maturity, adaptability, and a positive attitude throughout their placements.

Students who were unable to secure a placement participated in the Virtual Work Experience program across a range of fields, including Policing, Psychology, Physiotherapy, Cyber Security, Game Development and Design, Software Engineering, Finance, Nursing, Chemistry, and Veterinary Nursing. These interactive modules provided students with hands-on activities, enabling them to engage with practical tasks while developing their understanding of each subject.

We are proud of the effort and commitment shown by our Year 10 students and thank the many employers and organisations who generously supported them throughout this experience.
