Year 11 Biology Students Explore Osmosis

Year 11 Biology Students Explore Osmosis
Bibi Thomas

Earlier this year, Faith Flexible Learning School hosted its annual Year 11 Biology Workshop, offering students an engaging, hands-on learning experience centred on the topic of osmosis.

Working collaboratively in teams, students conducted a series of practical experiments, collecting and analysing data to support their assessment tasks. The workshop encouraged teamwork, critical thinking, and a deeper understanding of key biological concepts.

A highlight of the day was the opportunity to develop microscopy skills. Students prepared their own slides using a range of plant specimens and used microscopes to observe and identify structures at a cellular level. With a strong focus on practical skill-building and active learning, the workshop provided a valuable and enjoyable experience for all involved and was a day filled with discovery, collaboration, and scientific exploration.
