Year 9 Takes on Write a Book in a Day

Our Year 9 English students recently participated in the Write a Book in a Day competition and should be incredibly proud of their achievements. During the challenging 12-hour event, students worked collaboratively to brainstorm ideas, develop characters, write, edit, and illustrate an original story, all within a single day.

Throughout the marathon writing session, students demonstrated outstanding creativity, resilience, teamwork, and problem-solving skills. Despite the long hours and demanding deadlines, they maintained a positive attitude, supported one another, and remained focused on producing their very best work. It was inspiring to see their enthusiasm, determination, and passion for storytelling shine through as they transformed their ideas into a completed book.

In addition to their writing efforts, students also raised funds for the Children's Cancer Institute, the charity supported by the Write a Book in a Day initiative. Their participation not only showcased their literary talents but also highlighted their compassion, generosity, and commitment to making a difference in the lives of children and families affected by cancer.

We would also like to extend our sincere thanks to the wonderful parents and carers who supported this endeavour. From encouraging students throughout the preparation process to providing food, snacks, and words of motivation during the long day, their generosity and support played a significant role in the success of the event. The care and encouragement shown by our families helped create a positive and enjoyable experience for all involved.

The day was a wonderful example of students using their creativity for a greater purpose, and we commend them for their dedication, perseverance, and generosity. We are immensely proud of the way they embraced the challenge, worked together, and represented our school community with such enthusiasm and excellence.
