Meet Mrs Diana Braybrooke

Mrs Diana Braybrooke is the Head of HASS for Years 7-9 and has been teaching at Faith since August 2020. With a deep love for History and Jesus, she has dedicated her career to helping young people grow academically and spiritually.

Before joining Faith, she spent 12 years teaching and writing curriculum for Years 7-12 at a private Christian school. During that time, she founded a social justice group called HOPE and led missions' trips to Cambodia. She holds a B.A/B.ED and a Mind Detox Practitioner qualification in Mental Health, which fuels her passion for supporting young people, particularly those facing mental health challenges.

Diana’s journey into teaching was shaped by her own faith story. Coming from a non-Christian background, she encountered Jesus as a teenager, and the investment of her youth pastors inspired her to give back through education.

She loves tap dancing, travelling with her 2 kids Flynn and Estelle, and drinking coffee at hipster cafes with her husband David.

What do you love most about your role at Faith?

The opportunities I've had to work with students all over Australia and the world. Seeing them grow in their God-given potential is a dream.

What is a fun fact about you?

I love to dance! Tap dancing, contemporary and jazz.

What inspired you to work in your current role?

In all honesty I felt God call me here to this school. When a past work colleague reached out I felt God stirring in my spirit that this is the role He had for me. Moving from day school was scary at the time but now I see why God has placed me here.

Where is your favourite place on earth, and why?

Italy for all the awesome historical features. I also love the Amalfi Coast and the beautiful geography there, not to mention the amazing food!

What is the most rewarding part of working with students?

Students coming to love History and seeing them grow in their Faith.

What is your favorite book or film and why?

Life is Beautiful is a poignant Italian film that blends comedy & tragedy, following Guido Orefice, a charismatic Jewish-Italian man who uses humour and imagination to shield his young son from the horrors of a Nazi concentration camp during WWII.
