Faith News

Meet Mrs Gina Hamilton

Gina lives in Charleville, in outback Queensland, with her husband and three children. While life has taken her to many places across Australia - including Darwin, Brisbane, the Gold Coast, Adelaide, Melbourne and Sydney (twice) - it is Charleville she now calls home. Drawn by its simple lifestyle, strong sense of community, and the peace and quiet of living on a small property just outside town, Gina is more than happy to stay there for the foreseeable future, unless God has other plans.

In recent years, Gina has also enjoyed opportunities to explore beyond Australia, embracing the experiences and perspectives that come with different cultures. Over the last year alone, she has travelled to Japan, Ireland and the United Kingdom, broadening her horizons and creating memorable experiences along the way. With a love for community, family, and adventure, Gina brings a unique perspective shaped by both outback Australian life and international travel to her role at Faith.

More about Gina

What do you love most about your role at Faith?

I love working with the team in Senior English who are so encouraging and supportive. Everyone is interested in you personally, not just professionally, which makes one feel valued.

What is a fun fact about you?

I've been sky-diving ONCE and never again!

What inspired you to work in your current role?

I am very much a lover of literature so teaching the senior grades in English gives me an opportunity to share that passion for language, historical contexts and culture.

Where is your favourite place on earth, and why?

Edinburgh in Scotland is an impressive old city where its historical architecture is something to behold. I explored the Royal Mile for a delightful 4 hours!

What is the most rewarding part of working with students?

I enjoy the interactions with my students and their wonderful sense of humour. Even when the work is mentally challenging and somewhat daunting they can still pull off some witty comments in the Chat which gives everyone a good laugh!

What is your favorite book or film and why?

Most novels in the historical fiction genre or the literary classics. The novel that has most impacted me is 'War and Peace' by Leo Tolstoy which was such a physically and emotionally demanding read. Loved it though!
