Meet Mrs Jasmine Parnell

Mrs Jasmine Parnell is a Secondary English Teacher here at Faith!

Before teaching, I was a gymnast for 10 years and a gymnastics coach for 20 years. That experience shaped my love for learning and mentoring.

What do you love most about your role at Faith?

That I can actually teach my students well, in a safe and calm environment. I cherish the diversity of our classroom, with students from across Queensland and around the world.

What inspired you to work in your current role?

My own children did and the fact that I would work for Graeme Johnston again.

Where is your favourite place on earth, and why?

One of my favourite places is Rockingham Foreshore in Western Australia—it’s where I met my husband, and I love the colour of the water.

What is the most rewarding part of working with students?

I’m here to help students develop a love for literacy and reading, which I believe is the foundation of lifelong learning. I aim to teach students who are eager to engage, participate actively, and grow.

What is your favorite book or film and why?

My favourite movie is Patch Adams because it brings me so much joy. I deeply admire how passionate Patch was about bringing happiness to others, and that’s exactly what I aspire to do in my own life—spread joy and make a positive difference.
