Meet Mrs Kari Tuffin

Mrs Kari Tuffin is one of our wonderful Secondary English Teachers at Faith!

Kari was homeschooled from Years 4 - 11, with part of her education completed through Distance Education, before finishing Years 11 and 12 at two public high schools. With a background in performing arts and a specialisation in musical theatre, she spent seven years teaching singing, vocals, and performance at the Caloundra Music Academy. During this time, Kari discovered her passion for education, leading her on a prayerful journey that brought her to Faith. She also has experience in fundraising for charities and working with educational diagnostics programs.

Kari is passionate about fostering both academic and personal growth and is committed to creating an inclusive, supportive learning environment.

With a strong sense of community and a heart for mentorship, she empowers students with confidence, resilience, and a love of learning. As an extroverted nurturer, Kari believes in meaningful connections and ensures every student feels seen, valued, and capable of success.

More about Kari

What do you love most about your role at Faith?

The opportunity to build meaningful connections with my students and help them grow both academically and personally.

What is a fun fact about you?

I have a background in musical theatre and spent seven years teaching singing and performance, so there’s a good chance I’ll break into song at any moment!

What inspired you to work in your current role?

Seeing students grow in confidence and ability inspired me to teach, showing me the power of encouragement and belief in realising potential.

Where is your favourite place on earth, and why?

My favourite place on earth is wherever I feel peace, purpose, and connection. It’s not the place itself, but the sense of belonging and love that makes it feel like home.

What is the most rewarding part of working with students?

The most rewarding part of working with students is watching them grow, gain confidence, and realise their potential. Being part of their journey and helping them believe in themselves is a gift that fills my heart.

What is your favorite book or film and why?

My favourite book is Daring Greatly by Brené Brown. It teaches the power of vulnerability and courage, reminding us that true strength comes from being open and embracing our imperfections. It is a constant source of inspiration.
