Meet Mrs Rebekah Curnow

Mrs Rebekah Curnow is our wonderful Year 8 Coordinator at Faith!

While I had always wanted to be a teacher, I could never have foreseen the path the Lord would bring me on to this point. Graduating in 2003, I trained as a Music and English teacher, and spent nearly a decade teaching these subjects (along with a few 'bonus' subjects along the way) in both Brisbane and Toowoomba. During this time I embarked on a Masters of Educational Studies (Leadership).

After a break to raise a family (including 4 years of doing Distance Education with my own kids), and working with my husband to build an IT consulting business, I have found myself very blessed to join the team at Faith Christian School in 7-9 HASS.

Along this road I married Lachlan in 2011, had 4 beautiful children (Jonathan (13), Elizabeth (11), Timothy (10) and Zachary (8) and moved to the beautiful Sunshine Coast. As a family, we are committed and active in our local church community. Our home is filled with music, with an open door for those the Lord is bringing across our paths.

What do you love most about your role at Faith?

Faith filled conversations - I've really enjoyed opportunities with staff, students and parents to encourage one another in our faith.

What is a fun fact about you?

I'm an oboist!

What inspired you to work in your current role?

The opportunity to utilise the skills I've developed over many years (both as a teacher and in business) - it's the perfect blend for me. Also the opportunity to still be present for my children.
