Meet Ms Stephanie Hedges

Ms Stephanie Hedges is one of our wonderful Primary Teachers at Faith!

I began teaching in my childhood home, instructing my dolls and any other willing live participant. My desire to teach never wavered and I have been blessed to serve God in this ministry for over thirty years. I have had the joy of living in locations such as the Blue Mountains, Lake Macquarie, the Central Coast, the Tweed area and now Redlands Coast. Each move has been an answer to prayer and each new location has provided fresh teaching opportunities, challenges, new friends, beautiful scenery and always a classroom of little people who are eager to learn. I have had experience teaching children from Prep through to Year 6 and have been involved in areas such as curriculum, learning support and administration.

I have been married to Dwane for 41 years. Our family includes three adult sons, two daughters-in-law, three granddaughters, and two dogs.

I enjoy spending time with God, my family and my friends. I love to walk beside the bay and watch a good movie with a twist at the end.

More about Stephanie

What do you love most about your role at Faith?

I am particularly fond of teaching children in Year three and I love being able to do this from home. I am so glad that I can share Jesus with my students.

What is a fun fact about you?

Things I especially like: small dogs, cherries, sunrises and sunsets, playing strategy games, holding newborn babies, whale watching, buying new books.

What inspired you to work in your current role?

Teaching Year three at Faith Christian School is a direct answer to prayer. God's timing is perfect.

Where is your favourite place on earth, and why?

My favourite place on earth is Rotorua because I love the geothermal bathing experience. Soaking in a pool of water at 42 degrees Celsius while gazing across the lake and up at the night sky is just the perfect way to spend an evening.

What is the most rewarding part of working with students?

Watching children develop a love for reading and writing brings me much pleasure, however, my greatest thrill is seeing a student choose to follow Jesus.

What is your favorite book or film and why?

The Chosen TV series because seeing 'Jesus' in action is so inspiring.
