Parent Engagement

Building Strong Partnerships for Lifelong Learning

At Faith, we believe that education is most powerful when it’s a shared journey, one that brings together the expertise of teachers and the lived experiences of parents and caregivers. This partnership is at the heart of our approach to distance education, where the home becomes the first and most influential classroom.

The home is the first classroom, and the parents are the first teachers."

-Janet Goodall, Educator

What Is Parent Engagement?

Real parent engagement is more than just showing up for school events or helping with homework. It’s a genuine, ongoing partnership between families and educators. Parents and caregivers bring a wealth of knowledge about their children, their culture, and their life experiences that adds so much depth to learning. We see this connection as a vital part of helping every student thrive.

Parental engagement in learning means parents undertake an active, meaningful, and sustained sharing of their child’s education. Such engagement can provide additional months of academic progress over the course of a year (EFL, 2023; Hattie, 2023).

How Faith Supports Parent Engagement

Parent engagement is a partnership between educators and families. At Faith, we see this relationship as a cornerstone of student success. We understand that every family is unique, and we’re committed to providing flexible, personalised support.

Here’s how we foster strong partnerships:

1. Communicating Regularly

Teachers maintain open lines of communication through emails, phone calls, and virtual meetings to ensure parents and carers feel informed and empowered.

2. Supporting Learning at Home

Faith provides families with:

  • Curriculum focus
  • Upcoming assessments
  • Available support materials
  • Thoughtfully-designed workbooks

3. Creating Meaningful Connections

Faith connects families through:

Parent/Caregiver Contributions

Learning doesn’t only happen in online lessons; it begins and thrives in the home. When families actively share in the learning process, students benefit from richer, more meaningful experiences.
