This program provides Years 10 ,11 and 12 students with an opportunity to develop and practice their ministry and Christian servitude skills through a local partnership trip. This experience will enhance and enrich the students’ understanding of what it means to be a Christian as they express God’s love and grace, as ones who have received it, to those who need it.
Through this Partnership trip, students will have the opportunity of being exposed to, and serving in a culture different from their own. By emerging and educating students in this complex community, we aim to develop relationships, compassion and understanding while striving towards a better shared vision. This directly supports the School’s objective to develop “confident and creative individuals” as well as “recognising the importance of different learning styles, the importance of success in learning and the importance of our faith in God.”
Program Aims:
- Create an inclusive environment where we share and build relationships, understand culture and create learning experiences that bring us closer to God.
- Develop student capabilities in leadership, Christian characteristics and complete elements of the practical units from the Certificate III in Ministry
- The opportunity to lead small group activities, lead/play worship, lead games/activities and assist with running a Church service (Youth or Worship)
What’s included?
- Bus transport to and from the venue, leaving from Faith Christian School, Daisy Hill
- Sleeping mat
- All meals
- Pastoral care and support for each students
Contact Pastor Warren at warren.spooner@faith.qld.edu.au if you have any questions.
For the Thursday night worship and prayer we were all up front praying for each other. We would put our hands on people and we would all pray and the most delightful thing was seeing three kids come to God, and God just pouring out His Spirit on them, and they actually experiencing His love for the first time.
