The Faith High Performance Program is a purpose-built education program for elite athletes and successful performing artists who need a flexible education to work around their training schedule.

Traditional School Wasn't Built for This

Families of elite athletes and performers often have to compromise their performance pathway with their education. Faith Christian School's distance education model was built for this.

The Faith High Performance Program (FHP) adds a dedicated layer of support, planning, and pastoral care on top of flexible learning options, ensuring families don't have to choose.

Six Reasons FHP is Different

FHP is not a modified version of standard schooling - it's a program specifically built from the ground up for high-performance students.

01

DEDICATED FHP DIRECTOR & CHAPLAIN

Our FHP Director will know your child's training and performance program and are available exclusively for our FHP students  to ensure they have all the support they need. They also have their own chaplaincy support to help with pre/post-competition wellbeing check-ins.

02

INDIVIDUAL EDUCATION PLAN

An IEP will be built around your child's training calendar — not the school timetable. This means academic requirements are mapped to the student's schedule, not imposed over it.

03

ASSESSMENT FLEXIBILITY

Structured, formal flexibility on deadlines and submission timing during competition and touring periods — aligned to Queensland Education guidelines.

04

FAITH-CENTRED

Christian values embedded throughout the program — not bolted on as an afterthought. Identity, purpose, and character are central, not optional.

05

FULL QCE ACCESS

Your child completes their senior schooling without compromise — full Year 12 subject access, ATAR-eligible pathways, and QCE delivery.

06

EARLY PATHWAY SUPPORT

FHP supports students across junior and senior years — building excellent performers and excellent students from the very beginning of their high-performance journey.

One Program. Two Ways to Learn.

FHP fits your child's life — not the other way around.

Individual Pathway

Study from home, on the road, or wherever your child is. Online and self-paced. Ideal for students with heavy travel schedules, interstate or international competition, or highly individualised training loads that vary week to week.

Hub Cohort

Small groups gather at a studio, club, or training venue to study and train side by side. Structured, supervised, and social. Ideal for dance cohorts, music ensembles, gymnastics groups, or academy-based students who benefit from shared learning environments.

Age-Specific Pathways

Current FHP Students

We have a number of high-performance athletes who have already proven the effectiveness of the Faith High Performance program. These students are competing at National and International levels in their chosen fields, while successfully achieving a quality education at Faith Christian School.

Wellbeing & Chaplaincy

High performance endeavours can take a toll. FHP supports your child across five dimensions - not just academic outcomes.

Sports Chaplaincy — A Genuine Differentiator

FHP students have direct access to a dedicated chaplain — via Teams and phone — with structured check-ins during competition and performance periods. Our chaplaincy team includes a member with direct experience as Head of Sports Chaplaincy Queensland, bringing specialist knowledge of what high-performance students need beyond training and results.

Meet the Team

Jonathan Watson

FHP DIRECTOR

'Jono' has extensive experience in education and is the FHP Director and Head of Secondary at Faith. He is the primary point of contact for all FHP families — overseeing every student's individual plan, academic support, and program experience.

Jono believes that high-performance students deserve a school experience as structured and intentional as their training. His door — and inbox — is always open.

Ps Warren Spooner

FHP CHAPLAIN

Ps 'Was' brings a rare combination of elite sporting experience and pastoral leadership to the FHP. As an athlete, he competed in Rugby Union, Rugby League, Water Polo, and three-day eventing, and holds instructor and examiner credentials with Pony Club Australia. His career in sports administration spans some of Australia's most iconic organisations — including the Penrith Panthers and the Cruising Yacht Club of Australia, where he oversaw the 50th Sydney to Hobart Yacht Race. He has also worked as an international boxing promoter in the US and Europe.

Today, Was works closely with students navigating the demands of high performance — whether in sport, the performing arts, or another field of excellence — alongside school and identity development. His belief is straightforward: long-term success is built on character, resilience, and support — not just talent.

Peter Meyer

FHP CHAPLAIN

'Chappy Pete' is a chaplain, coach, and lifelong sports enthusiast with a genuine passion for people. He holds a Bachelor of Ministry from the Bible College of Queensland and a Level 2 Chaplaincy Certificate with Sports Chaplaincy Australia.

His background spans chaplaincy, coaching, and high-performance environments — including roles with Netball Queensland, the Queensland Firebirds, and Sports Chaplaincy Australia. He also competed for six years at elite level in Rodeo, giving him a real understanding of the pressures that come with performing at the top of your game.

Chappy Pete is committed to walking alongside students — athletes, performers, and emerging leaders alike — helping them thrive in every area of life.
