Short Course Literacy

Short Course

Literacy Short Course helps students understand themselves, and understand and evaluate the world they live in.

This subject is suited to students who are interested in pathways beyond school that lead to vocational education and/or work. A course of study in Literacy may establish a basis for further education and employment in the fields of trade, industry, business and community services. Students will learn within a practical context related to general employment and successful participation in society, drawing on the literacy used by various professional and industry groups.

Prerequisites

None

*Short Courses in Numeracy and Literacy are only available to students who cannot meet the minimum numeracy and literacy requirements through Essential English and Mathematics. These short courses accrue 1 QCE point each on completion. Participation in these short courses requires approval from the Deputy Principal of Senior Secondary in consultation with the Head of English and Head of Maths to determine a student’s eligibility for the course.
