Kris Shotam

Kris joined Faith Christian School of DE bringing with him his extensive experience gained over several decades as a computer networks engineer, project manager, and regional director within both small businesses and large conglomerates.

Recognising the critical skills gap in the IT industry, Kris now works as our registered VET trainer for the Certificate II in Applied Digital Technology and Certificate III in Information Technology courses.

More about Kris

What do you love most about your role at Faith?

The ability to train our youth to have skills they can immediately use after their Year 12, either in their first job or if they decide to continue on in higher education.

What is a fun fact about you?

As an ethnic Indian (with a Chinese wife and grandchildren who are Spanish and French mixed) people automatically think I would love it, but cricket is soooo boring!

What inspired you to work in your current role?

I wanted to "give back" a small portion of all the blessings Jesus has bestowed on me.

Where is your favourite place on earth, and why?

Stuart Highway near Ayers Rock. I stopped my car in the middle of the night and saw the Milky Way in all it's majesty.

What is the most rewarding part of working with students?

That moment when complex things suddenly click together in their brains!

What is your favorite book or film and why?

The movie Risen. It's an almost funny impossible task for the poor Centurion tasked to find the body of the risen Christ, highlighting issues which most secular people seldom think of and raising their awareness that the Resurrection was no myth.
