Accelerate your walk with God, strengthen your understanding of the Bible and apply new skills at your church.

The Certificate III in Christian Ministry and Theology Course will strengthen your faith in God and prepare you to share the gospel with the world. You will gain understanding in the foundations of our faith, learn how to defend the gospel, share your faith with others and know how to apply the Word in every situation.

Students will be given opportunity to serve in their local church, preach in class and at Faith Talks, our weekly online chapel service, join local mission trips, serve people in need, as well as debate and present the gospel in different contexts.

Available for students in Years 10-12, you will receive a nationally recognised qualification on completion. In addition, students will receive up to 8 points towards QCE for this training.

Course Requirements

Student must attend live interactive lessons for collaborative learning, 2 hrs on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons. Note: Video recordings are used as revision tools and do not replace attendance and interaction.
Students must have their webcam on and speak to other students using a microphone.
Students must have a fast, reliable internet connection with a webcam and a microphone for video conferencing.
Students must complete two work experience placements (internship) to develop practical ministry skills: Term 2 serve in your local church (e.g. kids or youth ministry etc.) and Term 3 serve in community care (caring for those in need) ministry.
To demonstrate the ability to meet deadlines, students will be expected to hand in one practical assignment per week, which they will complete in their own time, in addition to interactive sessions. 30 minutes to 2 hours per task.

Students will develop their discipleship journey, learning more about God and be equipped to minister to others.

Serve in Your Local Church

Students develop their practical ministry skills through two work experience placements: one at their local church and the other in a a community care ministry. Additionally students will be given opportunity to join Faith's local missions trips.

Grow in God!

Students will engage in daily Bible reading and the discipline of maintaining a reflective Journal, discover the foundations of our faith, learn how to defned the faith and share the gospel with others.

It is a requirement of this course that ALL STUDENTS use their webcam and microphone during interactive sessions. Students that decline to use a webcam and microphone will not be considered eligible to continue the course. Webcam and microphone will be mandatory from week 3 onwards.

Work Experience

Students will be required to participate in two internships, one to serve in their local church and the other for a community care ministry, to experience and learn from the practical aspects of ministry. Each work experience covers approximately 3 hours per week or 30 hours of work each in Term 2 and Term 3. Local church ministry might include activities such as assisting or leading in children's, youth or young adult ministries, serving in church services providing support for church services including set-up/pack down, leading or assisting in small group lessons, administrative work in the office, sharing or preaching opportunities or other related ministry activities. Students can arrange this with their local church or community group. Community Care ministries can include packing or delivering food hampers for the poor and homeless, serving or cooking meals, working in an Op Shop, etc.

Timeframe for Work Experience

Work experience will be expected to begin Week 1 of each Term and arrangements must be made in advance. If unsure, check with your trainer. Note: Students must organise their own internship placement or seek assistance from the RTO if a work placement is not possible. All activities will be oversighted by the local church leader who will meet with the student weekly to discuss their learning. An agreement with the organisation leadership and documentation will be provided for this placement.

Key Activities

Students will engage with the Word of God, developing an understanding of practical theology by applying scripture to everyday life, debating and questioning their understanding of the Bible and exploring how it applies to today's current topics. Students will learn the Biblical worldview of Grace, Sonship, the Fall, Christ as Lord and Saviour and how to identify the faults of secular philosophy and its consequences using current media. Students will also get to ask their questions in the "Discussing the Hard Questions" section of the Course.

What is the Course Application Fee?

The Course Application Fee is a non-refundable fee per course, payable to secure enrolment in the course.

Change Request: 30 Day Window from Course Commencement

The Course Application Fee will be applied 30 days from commencement of the course. Students may choose to withdraw within this 30 day window and transfer credit to be applied to another course from our course offering. Enrolment fees apply regardless of student engagement and/or attendance. Students who choose to withdraw after the 30 day window may do so, but must pay a new Course Application Fee.

When can students enrol?

Certificate I and Certificate II

Students can enrol at any time for Certificate I and Certificate II Courses. Generally, the courses take 12 months to complete from commencement.

Certificate III

Certificate III Courses commence in Term 1 only. A new Course Application Fee will apply if students wish to retake a Course.
