CHC22015 Cert II in Community Services
This Course teaches foundational Community Service skills with a Christian worldview. It is a fully remote course that combines online learning with 20 hours of practical work experience in a community services organisation.
Throughout this course, students will:
- Develop the skills to work both independently and in a team environment
- Learn how to effectively manage their time, priorities and workload
- Understand and apply Workplace Health & Safety principles
- Develop strategies on how to manage stress and maintain wellbeing
- Gain valuable hands-on experience through a real-world work experience placement
Students will have the flexibility to choose where they would like to complete their 20 hours of work experience. This may include community organisations such as: churches, schools, not-for-profit organisations and community groups. Examples include animal shelters, community bookstores, soup kitchens, op shops, local sporting clubs, aged care facilities and community centres.
On completion of the course, students receive a nationally-recognised qualification, while also developing a deeper understanding of the benefits of serving and helping others.

4 QCE Points and flexible learning
Successful completion of this course contributes 4 QCE points towards your Queensland Certificate of Education (QCE) and leads to a nationally recognised qualification.
Students can study from anywhere in Queensland, with most learning and assessment completed online and the required work experience placement undertaken within their local community.
Designed to be completed within 12 months, this course gives students the flexibility to progress through the assessment tasks at a faster pace if they choose.

Students have the flexibility to choose a community organisation where they will complete their 20 hours of work experience, allowing them to serve in an area that interests them.
So, whether it be an animal shelter, a community bookstore, a soup kitchen, a local op shop, a sporting club or their local church, students can select a placement that allows them to contribute their time, skills and effort in a meaningful way.
