CHC22015 Cert II in Community Services

The student will require an internet connected computer with a scanner to upload completed tasks and access to Google Calendar.

A camera or smartphone will be required to take photos as evidence of practical tasks completed.  The Smartphone does not require a sim card and may still upload photos while accessing your home wifi network.

Attendance at the 1 hour Tutorial online every second Tuesday at 12.15pm is mandatory. Students may attempt to complete evidence tasks prior to the online class on that topic using provided online material and guides. Once students have successfully submitted the first 5 tasks and are approved by the Trainer, attendance becomes voluntary. Students are expected to submit a minimum of 1 task a week but may submit more tasks per week and complete early.

Students will select a placement in a local not for profit community group, church or school and will sign a Community Workplace Agreement Form. Once the agreement has been signed by all parties, uploaded and marked as competent the students may commence their community workplace placement.

The course may be completed as fast as you can complete all tasks marked as 100%. Minimum of 20 hours volunteering and collecting all task evidence. You may need longer than 20 hours to complete all tasks and may choose to do more than 20 hours with the organisation on agreement with the organisation.

Preparing for Work Placement

1. Complete the Workplace Experience Agreement Form, which will cover the student with insurance during their work placement. Details can be seen here: Work Experience Placement for School Students - Insurance Coverage. Please also note the excluded activities from insurance cover.

Please be aware that this Workplace Experience Agreement Form is to cover all parties with insurance including the safety of our students, and a risk assessment of the workplace or volunteer work placement. This Workplace Experience Agreement Form MUST be completed prior to any volunteer work experience starting and it MUST be uploaded and approved prior to any hours being accrued. 

2. Students must complete a free Volunteer Blue Card application if required by the volunteer organisation or supply a copy of an existing Blue Card to Faith RTO by uploading a photo to Learning@Faith, or upload an email from the Supervisor stating a BlueCard is not required.

Certificate II in Community Services Course Application Fee

External students: $1000

Enrolled Faith Students: $200

• Students must arrange their own external workplace volunteer placement.
• The student's parent is not able to be the student's supervisor due to conflict of interest.
• The student's Work Experience Agreement Form must be uploaded no later then 6 weeks from starting the course and must be submitted and marked as competent prior to beginning work at the workplace.
• A minimum of 1 Task is required to be submitted each week as evidence of engagement.
• Students will need to allow being photographed while engaged in work activities for evidence collection.
• Students will need to speak to customers, co-workers and their supervisor.
