Unleash your inner tech wizard:

  • Master the Basics: Get a grip on computer networks, servers, and AI.
  • Code Your Way to Success: Learn to write code and build web pages using basic algorithms.
  • Become a Customer Hero: Learn to provide top-notch customer support and manage their inquiries efficiently.
  • Secure the Future: Discover how to protect sensitive data and keep systems safe.
  • Remote Control the Tech World: Learn to manage servers and networks from anywhere.

Overall, the training will have a customer service aspect, taught from a Christian worldview.

Early entry

  • This course is for students in Year  11 and Year 12
  • Year 10 students may get early entry by  sending in a competent submission of Tasks 29 and 30 of the Cert II in ADT course; at the end of the task students will have selected parts of a computer to assemble (virtually) then installed and customised the Operating System.
  • Students in Yr 10 will need to complete these tasks and join an online interview with the trainer requiring students to use their camera and microphone and will need to interact with the trainer.  Students unable to do this will need to first complete the Certificate II in Applied Digital Technologies course.
  • For 2026, the cut off date for this to be submitted is 1-Dec-2025.

Course Requirements

  • Students must attend interactive live sessions for collaborative learning, 2 hrs on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons. Session recordings are to be used as revision tools only as they cannot substitute for attendance and mandatory workplace-like interaction.

  • Students must have a fast, reliable internet connection with a computer, webcam and microphone. During class, students must have their webcam and microphone on and interact with other students.

  • To demonstrate the ability to meet deadlines, students will be expected to hand in one practical assignment per week, which is completed in their own time in addition to interactive sessions. Approximately 1 hour per task.
  • A second computer is required  for test bench tasks. This computer will be repeatedly wiped and rebuilt several times for different functions, and may remain unusable for several days at a time. You can either bring your own Dell laptop running Windows 11 OS (Dell  is mandatory due to BIOS compatibility), or, for $190, Faith will provide a refurbished laptop at the mandatory Intensive. This device is more than sufficient for all course tasks and will be rebuilt as a fully-functioning  media or ad-blocking server upon completion of the course.

All Practical. No Essays.

Every task is a real task you will use as an  IT engineer in your first-ever IT job, such as:

  • Understanding and building computer software and hardware solutions
  • Developing critical and creative-thinking skills
  • Finding solutions and deploying protection for end users against hacking

Choose your Own Job Role.

IT is not a one-size-fits-all industry.  There are software programmers who work alone writing code in and others  who roll out and maintain the NBN.

Then there are IT Project Managers, whose sole job is to ensure teams with different IT skill sets work together to create a master network, or resolve systems issues.

Last but not least, there are emerging fields in AI and Cyber Security, the list goes on...

In-Person Intensives

This course starts with a  mandatory 2 day hands-on intensive in South East Queensland, where students get to work on hardware used by large multi-million dollar corporations, meet with their fellow course students, and build relationships for the team collaboration task.

Vocational training is not all about books; it's also about teamwork. One task is team collaboration to sit together, discuss solutions to a problem based on one's role and expertise in the organisation, and follow up after deployment to ensure the solution is a success.
