Whether you're passionate about filmmaking, photography, social media content, or visual storytelling, this course gives you the opportunity to develop the creative and technical skills used across a range of creative industries.

The Certificate III in Screen and Media is designed for students who are interested in filmmaking, photography, social media content and visual storytelling and want to develop practical creative and technical skills used across the screen and media industries.

Students gain hands-on experience across the production process, developing skills in screenwriting, camera operation, photography, lighting, sound recording, video editing, production and social media. Throughout the course they create practical media projects including short films, photographic work and digital content, building a body of work that demonstrates their developing creative and technical skills.

A major feature of the course is two three-day face-to-face Intensive Workshops in the Brisbane area. Students work with commercial-grade cameras and production equipment, collaborate as part of a production crew and experience the processes and protocols used in a professional-style film and studio environment.

Students also complete a minimum of 10 hours of work experience in a relevant creative industry, ministry or workplace setting, providing another opportunity to apply their skills in a real-world context.

Throughout the course, students are encouraged to approach creative media from a Christian worldview, considering how their values can influence the stories they tell and the content they create. The qualification may provide a foundation for further study and future pathways in areas such as film, video production, photography, sound and digital media.

  • Complete an online pre-enrolment interview with the trainer
