Each student will require an internet-connected computer with a webcam, microphone and sound. A camera or smartphone will be required to take photos and videos as evidence of practical tasks completed. Students must attend project team meetings and filming days to complete this Course. (See below)

Important to Note: Students will be required to download some software during the course in order to complete video editing tasks. We have done our best to find software that is free of charge. Please note that software requires certain computer specs for smooth operation. The suggested minimum specs for computers is as follows: 

• CPU Intel Core i7 processor
• 16GB Ram
• GPU 4G minimum

Term 1

Project 1: Create a Music video (subject to change)

Term 2  

Project 2: Create a short documentary with interviews (subject to change)

Terms 3 and 4

 Project 3: Shoot and edit a short narrative (subject to change)

Students receive a nationally recognised qualification and also receive up to 8 points (with combined Cert 3 points) towards their QCE.

Please note that a maximum of 8 QCE points can awarded per industry pathway. This means Cert III in Screen and Media and Cert IV in Screen and Media can only receive 8 points combined

Students will connect online twice weekly for 2-hour interactive learning sessions, using webcam, headsets and microphone. During the sessions, students will be introduced to new ideas and information, collaborate with other students on how to apply that information in their context, have the practical task demonstrated, have the opportunity to ask questions and commence the practical task while receiving feedback from the trainer.

Students must attend these sessions and have no other external obligations at the time. Interactive training sessions cannot be completed by watching a video after hours. You must attend the first session with an Exercise Book and Pen.

Just like in any workplace, students in this Vocational Course are required to attend their interactive sessions consistently, participate in class discussions and work together with their other colleagues. Students who do not attend 80% of the interactive sessions may not be eligible to complete the Course.

Students will also be required to do practical tasks which can be up to 2 hours each week. 

All evidence of the student completing a practical task must be uploaded into Learning@Faith

There are no intensives for this course

By Invitation

Students must hold a Certificate III in Screen and Media or equivalent and be a currently enrolled student at Faith Christian School in Year 11 or 12. The Trainer must be satisfied that students undertaking this Course have a proven track record of meeting task deadlines. The Trainer reserves the right to make a decision regarding student acceptance into the Certificate IV in Screen and Media based on this evidence.
