The Certificate II in Skills for Work is your launchpad into employment and further study so you can step into your future with confidence. 

Tailored for Secondary Students, this course helps you discover your strengths, set goals, and build a personal learning plan and resume.You’ll develop essential skills including time management, problem-solving, and clear communication—both written and spoken.

Through real-world tasks, you’ll learn to organise, adapt, and present yourself professionally.
Whether you’re exploring your options or ready to take the next step, this course builds your confidence, motivation, and the core skills employers value most.

Students receive a nationally recognised qualification on completion. In addition, Students will receive up to 4 points towards the QCE for this training.

Available for all Year 10, 11 and 12 students. 

Course Requirements

  • Students must submit a minimum of one task per week.
  • This course requires students to record short videos of themselves demonstrating practical workplace tasks and interactions with other people.  
  • Access to a computer, reliable internet, a web cam and microphone. 

Write your resume and cover letter

Students will learn real-life skills including goal writing, writing a resume and cover letter, planning and problem solving, wellbeing strategies, and digital and numeracy tasks essential to any workplace.

No weekly tutorials

Students have the flexibility to engage with course materials at a time each week that suits them.

1 Task Per Week

Complete a minimum of one task per week with the flexibility to go faster and finish early!
