CUA31120 Cert III in Visual Arts

Fully Remote

Enter the Creative Industries with visual arts foundations taught through a Christian viewpoint.

The Certificate III in Visual Arts at Faith Christian School equips students with foundational knowledge, understanding, and skills through the practice of visual arts processes, techniques, and media in the artforms of drawing, painting, digital art, and textile work.

Unlike comparable courses geared toward adult students, this course is specifically designed for Distance Education students with age-appropriate tasks and examples, as well as a timetable that fits in with school.

During the course and upon completion of set tasks, students have the opportunity to create a portfolio of their artworks demonstrating their skills and personal aesthetic as a producer of the visual arts. They can then build on what they have learned by entering a personal visual arts or design practice of their own, or specialising in a field of their choice through further study.

Course Requirements

  • Students must attend Interactive Live Sessions (ILS) scheduled on a Tuesday and a Thursday afternoon for 2 x hours to participate in collaborative learning.
  • Students must have their webcams and microphones on when they enter the Interactive Live Sessions.
  • Students must have access to a fast and reliable internet connection when the webcam and microphone are in operation to maintain their attendance in the Interactive Live Sessions.
  • Collaborative learning includes students enabling their webcams and microphones for the purpose of presenting their work to meet the Foundation skill of Oral Communication.  This includes giving and receiving feedback to each other about the creative artworks produced, a step in the creative arts making process.
  • Demonstrate the ability to meet deadlines, students will be expected to hand in one task per week.  The tasks are 75% practical, producing tasks, with some of the theory tasks completed in a whole class group.   Students may need to schedule a further 1 to 3 hours per week as part of their personal creative art making process to complete all of the coursework.
