Good morning to everybody at Faith Christian School.

It’s Week 3! I hope you’ve settled into the term with lots of good work happening at home. We’ve had a couple of short weeks, of course, with the public holidays, but we’re keen to make sure that everything that we need is ready for the reports at the end of the semester.

Thank you to all the students who sent in the colouring in pages for Easter. We’ll have a winner in a week or so, but thank you for going to the effort of filling those in and sending them into the school.

ANZAC Day

Last week was Anzac Day and in four of our regions we had our Student Leaders attend their local Anzac service on behalf of Faith Christian School.

In Emerald, we had Piper. In Toowoomba, we had Lavinia. In Sunnybank, Brisbane, we had Jade, and in North Queensland, Eli laid a wreath at the Anzac Memorial.

Thank you to all who took the time to go to an Anzac Day service. It’s an important time of the year for us to remember what others have done for us.

PedalPrix

Over the next few weeks. our Pedal Prix team is competing. They competed in Ipswich last Saturday and they’ll be competing in five races throughout the year. So we’ll send you some photos of things a our Pedal Prix team have been up to. They’ve been doing a great job.

Our school is actually sponsoring an event here in Brisbane! You might like to come along. It’s just nearby to come and see your fellow students compete in a statewide Pedal Prix event.

Devotions

I’d like to give you some encouragement as you plow through your school week. I do school work as well — I’ve been talking lots of things and getting reports done for the school board and for the government, and some days it gets a little bit difficult.

But just remember in Colossians, Chapter 3, Verse 23 it says this: “Work willingly at whatever you do as though you’re working for the Lord and not for people.”

“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masterssince you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.”

– Colassians 4:23-24

The things that we do matter, whether it’s a spelling test or whether it’s getting ready for an assignment or for an exam. So I acknowledge the hard work that you’re doing and encourage you to keep it up!

Tip of the Month

Next week we’re starting a new segment called Learning Tip of the Month. We’ve got some things that we’d like to share with you on how to help your children do better with their learning at home. I’m looking forward to the May Tip of the Month!
