Devotions

I became a Christian at the age of 14. I was baptised that same year at Salisbury Baptist Church, 317 Lillian Avenue, Salisbury. It’s a day that sticks in my mind very well. My grandmother gave me a Bible and said, “There’s a Verse here I want you to think about” and I’m going to read that Verse to you, because we’ve got Leadership coming up.

This is 1 Timothy, Chapter 4, Verse 12: Let no one despise your youth, but be an example to the believers in word, conversation, charity, spirit, faith and purity.”

That was her encouragement to me, that even though I was young at that time, and I was inexperienced, and yes, I was a teenager and not everything I did was as good as it should be, there’s no reason why our young people can’t really fly and do some wonderful things.

“Let no one despise you for your youth, but set the believers an example in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, in purity.”

– 1 Timothy, Chapter 4:12 (ESV)

Upcoming Events

Leadership Camp

Speaking of our young adults, we have a Leadership Training Camp coming up at Mount Tamborine, where children can train to be Christian Leaders within our School. Our Regional Representatives have done a great job this year with a number of events and there are more to go, so if you are able to, apply! Students in Grade 5 and in Grade 11 are encouraged to come to that Leadership Camp! There’s a great opportunity for your child to learn about Christian leadership and to fellowship together.

Regional Workshops

Please note there’s been a change with Regional Workshops. Normally, we have them in Week 6, but this Term, we’re moving our Regional Workshops from Week 6 through to Week 10, and we’re going to have a celebration, and launch a few things, and we want you to be involved with that, so, I strongly encourage you to log on to the School’s website and register for your Regional Workshop coming up in Week 10, and we’ll be there with you and find out a bunch of things that we want to do. So, I’m really looking forward to meeting everybody again in Week 10.

Have a great week, everybody, we’ll see you in Week 6!
