News & Updates

G’day, Faith families! Well, here we are in the first week of your well-earned, end of Term, mid-Semester break, and I am pretty sure that there isn’t anyone out there who isn’t clapping their hands with joy, about now! I can tell you that your resources for next Term are in the pipeline, and they’re on the way to you right now!

Student Leadership Camp

We’re preparing now for an event in June that’s going to be particularly special. It’s our Student Christian Leadership Camp, and this is such an exciting and important opportunity for any students out there who feel that they would like to step up in Leadership, either in the School, in their Church, in their home, or in a club somewhere, that they are currently part of. Or maybe they would just like to know a little bit more about being a good Christian leader and a good Christian role model!

It’s open to students who are currently in Years 5 or 11 this year. You can apply right now on the website.

Here is what a couple of this year’s awesome Student Leaders had to say about the program!

“Hey, everyone! My name is Jade and I am the Regional Student Representative for our South Brisbane Region. Hello, everyone, my name’s Piper, and I’m the Senior Student Representative for Central and Far North Queensland. We would love to invite all of our Year 5 and Year 11 students to our upcoming Student Leadership Camp. This will take place in June, and we’ve got it currently scheduled to run from the 7th through to the 9th. For those of you thinking in Term dates, that’s about Week 8 in Term 2, I believe. If you are able to, I encourage you to attend this year’s Leadership Camp. If you’re interested in becoming a Student Representative in 2024, this camp is 100% for you, and even if you’re not entirely sure, come along anyway and check it out, because we would so love to see you there!”

Regional Parent Feedback Sessions

I wanted to let you know that the School is mounting a series of Parent Feedback sessions, and they’re going to be run at a variety of venues right across the State. They’re scheduled for Week 2 of Term 2, so, it’s getting close, it’s not far away!

We want to hear directly from you, so that nothing is omitted from our strategic planning moving forward. The Parent Feedback sessions will be conducted across 12 venues that will depend on the feedback that we get from you across the State during the second week of Term 2.We want everyone to have an opportunity to offer their thoughts and their suggestions. Please, don’t miss your opportunity to give your feedback!

Keep an eye out for the notices that are going to appear, please RSVP for the meeting that best suits you, so that my Team and I can do the necessary planning and make sure we get to see you face-to-face. Now, we hope to be able to offer an online option, as well, for those people who can’t make it to one of those Feedback sessions, so, that will be something that you need to watch for, as well. We’re looking forward to seeing you there and to hearing your thoughts. This is such an important thing, people, please, please don’t forget!

Thank a Teacher

We had a parent who contacted us through the link that you’ll find on this Newsletter, her initials are J.S., who, very, very kindly, and thank you so much for doing this, sent an email and said to us that she wanted to thank all of the Teachers, not a single one, she didn’t want to single out a particular Teacher, but all of the Teachers who had been teaching her children. Thank you, J.S., for bringing that in!

Student Joke

I feel totally equipped to do this segment! As a Pastor, and as a dad, and as a Granddad, I can tell the worst jokes on the planet and get away with it, so, here’s the one for this week:

Which item of school supplies is always the king of the classroom?

Well, of course, it’s the ruler!!

Devotions

As we’re moving towards the most important week of the year, the most important Event this planet’s ever witnessed, I’m just going to share a couple of Verses from the Book of Luke. It’s from Chapter 23, and it’s Verses 42 and 43, and it is an account of something that happened as Jesus was hanging there on the cross with those two men who had been tried and actually found guilty, and this is what it says:

“Then he said,  [This is one of the men hanging on a cross next to Jesus]  Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.  And Jesus replied,  I assure you, today you will be with me in paradise.”

This is such an important piece of history, because it’s clear that Jesus is making sure that we understand that there is nothing that we can do, nothing in our past, nothing in our future, that we cannot repent of and be assured that Jesus will make it right! So, here’s something truly special, a special Gift that Jesus has given us as we lead into Easter.

God bless you! I hope that you have a wonderful break, and I hope, too, that you set aside time to thank Jesus!
